It's gone beyond simple annoyance about the light, so disabling the key's function won't work
I habitually press the button an even number of times at random
It hasn't hurt anything yet, but it's still ridiculous

 

Perhaps you would be able to glue or fix the key down physically rendering it unable to be pressed at all? That's all I can really think of.

 

That might work
But I'd prefer it be an easily fixed thing, so glue is out of the question

I'd suggest you just ignore it, as it hasn't caused any problems

As for my WhatPulse thing, I have discovered an anomaly

But it has gotten worse over time

The obsession drives you nuts, especially when you can't do anything about it
