    Once outside, you see the look of the house. and when you come, as it were, outside the wall disappears and you see what is inside.

    As for the concept he's after, I get what he's saying. Buildings would have a foreground layer, and you only see what's in them once you enter them. It's similar to how the Diablo games, among others, handle buildings.

    Unlike in Terraria, where you could see whats inside a house as long as it haves light enough, I think that in Starbound, we shouldnt be able to see whats inside a house until we enter it.

    There's already a suggestion about this and one of the developers said they are looking into having a foreground layer :p
