I don't know if this has been thought of before but I want my stuff to be protected when playing online and i was thinking about one way it could be done that I think would be kinda cool. I want my home planet to require anyone who wants to come see it require permission to land from me. So no one can land on my world w/out my permission and everything I have or made it kept from people messing around. Has anyone else though of this? Any better ideas or comments?

  2. There is commands to protect a whole home-planet from such thing. Now about you personally inside a Server (that is not yours) get to claim a Planet and let it be your own it's unlikely.
But still possible if servers will have such permissions you can give to the X player to be the only one to edit the X planet. It would be interesting, but nothing confirmed!

Any chance of a a planet destroying laser that wraps the planet with bacon and then crushes it like a snake constricting?

I wholeheartedly support the idea of bacon-wrapped planets.

Seeing as how Dungeons and other artificial structures will have some sort of shield generator of sorts that prevents demolition or altering of the facility while it is active, perhaps you will eventually be able to craft your own shield generators to prevent others from tampering with your worlds or structures.

  7. I could see the concern if this was an mmo, but it is not so I dont see anything outside of server tools the devs provide us with helping in that situation. Make sure you play with like minded people and you shouldn't have any problems!

I really hope we will be able to protect our bases and make our walls unbreakable.

It strikes me as a little dull if I spend ages building an awesome hidden base full of traps only to have somebody dig through the wall and steal all my crap.

Perhaps you can build a hidden base or something? That might help.

    this right here^
i would imagine after at least finding one in a dungeon or wherever and destroying it-you could salvage some parts or something or even find blueprints for it to build one for your own structures

I am sure I read somewhere that once you claim a planet it means you are protected from griefing and what not. It would make sense to allow people to have some protection on what they build - pvp servers and games set specifically for pvp will have other rules of course, but even there I imagine you could build a base that could be destroyed with weapons, not someone just remooving a block.

I would assume that something like this exists.

Shield generators? Cool! Hadn't heard of those yet. And why does everything lead to bacon?

I was thinking something along the lines of purchasing an expensive Guardian Satellite, that would orbit a planet of your choice and allow you to configure who could break/build on the planet via whitelist.

Oh I see, it's fair for us to drop down onto some random planet, raid a military compound/temple/castle, kill the inhabitants, break their thing and steal their stuff, but when someone does it to us it's a CRIME. I wish you people could hear yourselves.

This would work well for planets where a player has made an obstacle course of sorts, or a planet with interesting features.

There should be an access code you have to type in to enter the atmosphere or something like that where your ship would be pushed away by magnetism rays.
