Holiday specials

It would be cool if there was holiday specials. For example on Halloween you could do a mission to get a flaming pumpkin hat or on Valentine's day you can get a gun that shoots hearts.

No. I don't want a game that makes me play on a specific day to get stuff.

Where is the "please don't add holiday content" option? I really don't like it when games have holiday content. I don't celebrate any type of holiday and it ruins a game for me when a holiday intrudes into the game's universe.

 

As much as i am favor for extra stuff, i like to have them available all the time and not only limited time.

Maybe make holiday themed planets instead of date tied content so players could visit them if want. (eastern eggs)

 

I would prefer content that is relevant all year long.

 

I think a if they -must- do this, it should be just a whole holiday solar system with holiday planets. Maybe with clues ingame to help those that want to find it hunt it down.
Those that don't, just make it at some obscure cords and your likely never to run into the content if your not a fan of it.

.. but if Jack is not the pumpkin king in that system, there will be problems. ;p

I really like holiday themed things. I don't want it to be forced on specific days to use it, but I just really like holiday decorations in games.

I like to dress up homes in holiday decorations when its that holiday. It feels authentic. AUTHENTIC

 

Wait, so you wouldn't want Starbound AT ALL if it had holiday specific items ? Pardon me, but uh, why?

No. just no. If it is anything like terraria, these special days will just turn into "mess with your computers clock day".

 

I don't really care either way. Personally think holiday events are pointless besides on mmo's. Those are fun

Nope. Like someone else said, we'd just piss about with our clocks to get said content. Pointless and segregating.

 

The idea of holiday events assumes a very western view point for an international game, which is bad IMHO.

Not to mention that aliens probably wouldn't celebrate human holidays, especially in the far distant future on an entirely different planet.
