Higher tier ore is WAY too rare.

Now I'm not saying it should be a walk in the park to find gold or platinum, but the way things are your progesion stalled way too much when it comes time to upgrade to gold, platinum, and diamond armor. You shouldn't have to mine for hours for the materials for one piece of gold armor.

 

I've found more gold stuff in chest than in actual mining.

 

1.) Higher level planets.
2.) Go further down.

 

Maybe in the beta sector?
Maybe on higher tier plants?

You are overreacting. If you mine for gold etc in their respective tiers of planets you will likely find them deep underground. I agree, they are rare but not rare enough for anybody to be lost for hours.
I crafted my gold armor yesterday, it took me something around 1 hour and 40minutes of mining with gold pickaxe (I also got hundreds of other ores that I mined on the way down). Made three rounds to the lava pit on 2 different arid planets and a moon (level ~15). I think it's not as hard as you claim, you just need patience and a bit of luck.

 

Iam going to the very bottom of the world in tier 2 worlds and gold ore is still extremely rare.

 

is platinum even spawning in the ground? ive been mining level 30 planets and haven't even seen a single piece

 

Been mining near the core on Threat Level 10 planets for several hours (with gold pickaxes - all bought from an NPC underground) and still don't even have enough silver for my last armor item, let alone enough gold ore to make anything.

 

I have been mining on my first planet today, and on the way down, I found plenty of Silver. Including a few decent sized pockets.

 

There should be asteroids or planets where certain rare materials are much more common, to reward players to exploring multiple planets.

 

From what I've been told Moons are a good source of Ore. So there you go.

Also that's a mildly bizarre name to have.

 

I've been playing for 12 hours, and I have probably only found around 20 silver ores and 20 gold. I think it's a bit too rare, probably more on higher level planets, in that case, I'm fine by it.

 

ya it gets really common on the higher level planets i constantly find gold veins with 50+ ore in em

 

I agree with the OP. Higher tier ore needs to be a bit more common.

I have more than 100 gold and silver bars, but i have only found 5 platinum and 5 diamond ORES. And those i found in chests. Can't even seem to find stuff in the gamma-sector.

 

Did you guys found the molten core already? I reached the lava, but no core :/

 

Honestly just give the server owners a difficulty level so we can keep it how it is. Let the people who want a easy game they can get in gather everything in 2 days and be bored have there own server. I personally plan to keep my server difficult as possible for those who enjoy achievements that mean something, not just another notch on the side of your ship. Obviously this won't matter until servers can host server side characters.

 

the lava lakes at the bottom are as low as you can go the screen stops going down like when you hit the bottom in terraria. also there isnt much down there at all, except if you fill in the lava with dirt it gets ore put in it

 

Wait gold armor? Mine stops at silver even though I have a bazillion gold bars.
