So, Hi! I'm student 20, and it's nice to meet everyone. I have only one suggestion from my play through. At least so far... Can we either get rid of pick degradation completely, or make the picks last significantly longer? I prefer the former, since nothing else in the game degrades, and that makes the picks seem... well, weird. To be completely frank, having to re-make tools in any game is just... well, it's kinda crap. I mean, it breaks flow and while it adds some verisimilitude, it's never fun. Even if it were fun, though, having mining tools be the only thing in the game that ever needs repairs makes it loose whatever realism it had. SO, mining becomes a pickaxe-making chore, which is fine if that's what you're going for, but I can't think that's your goal. Whatever you guys are after in this awesome game, you should either make everything breakable and repairable (with significantly higher endurance, if my preference means anything), or make none of it degrading. Having only pickaxes degrade is just, well, strange and narrative breaking. Cheers, though, on an awesome game! I didn't think anything was gonna beat Terraria in my book, but this might be it!
You're not really supposed to be using pickaxes (or drills) very much. The Matter Manipulator is your main tool, and is upgradeable. After all upgrades, it mines a 4x4 area faster than even the best craftable mining tool.
Yea picks used to have much more durability but now that you can uograde mm I only use the picks I find.
