I'll wait for the game to come out. I'm very tired of betas. I want a finished game for once to play.

 

Well, there is a up-side to having a open beta; The developers do not have to worry about rushing the game's completion, in knowing that people will be able to test a big deal of the game already and be somewhat satisfied, and some people would be eagerly ready to help and find bugs and glitches.

The only down-side I can think of is from people that just want a complete game and hate seeing the game as anything else than a complete, finished product.

Personally, I can't help but see every game I play as unfinished because in actuality nothing can truly be complete, nothing can truly be perfect. Which is why emptiness will inevitably consume existence.

 

In today's indie game world, it seems as if betas are simply for the impatient, no longer for actual 'testing'.

Why should they take more time than they need?

 

1. Actually I am quite knowledgeable in the area of marketing. My degree and job are evidence enough of that so regardless of what you think I do actually know what I'm talking about. I don't know the specifics about the development of Starbound, that's true but I never said I had access to some hidden information about it, so why are you trying to suggest that I said otherwise?
2. Now you're just chatting shit. I've not once stated what I'm saying is fact, and I challenge you to prove otherwise by quoting where I did. If you can't do that then might I suggest keeping quiet instead of trying to besmirch me. I'm just as entitled to my opinion on the matter as everyone else.

Yup, don't release it until finished. Don't obliterate our expectations.
Waiting is hard... but only a finished product could make it worth it.
