No point in having the fastest race car ever if it implodes on the first lap, basically.

  2. Why do you think the game is ready at this stage?

It seems to me that the combat system still requires a lot of polishing, for instance. It's also worth noting that it's been stated by developers that the real deal is not ready to be taken out of the oven yet. :p We've just been taking a few peeks at it, not the overall thing, so there are very likely other aspects which we aren't seeing that still require work.

Cortex Command took 13 years and it turned out awesome. Take all the time you needs...

The devs should take all the time they need, but not more than that ;P.

Finally! A thread that isn't about wanting them to hurry the release up.

Seriously, take all the time you need, I will gladly wait until sometime next year to buy the game. I would much rather buy the game, that is ready to be released, rather then a buggy less then full game. Yes the sandbox would be awesome for the beta but even then I don't mind waiting if they don't do the pre-purchase thing.

Just keep up the good work Dev Team! Take your time, this game is your guys' thing, and I would hate to see it ruined by a premature release date just because of people pressuring you about it.

Just wanted to point out that the game is not as far from completion as many seem to believe.
You've seen the screenshots, the water demo, the forest demo, as well as the lighting video.
Use your best judgement, the fact that nothing really happened in the 47 minute stream means absolutely zip about the completion of the game. Think, if I were to record a 45 minute video of me walking around a dead forest in Terraria, you'd probably assume the same thing. If you didn't know better.
Long story short, stop doubting Tiy and his team of super-programmers, they know exactly what they're doing, and they don't do anything they don't mean to.
I also don't mean to say the game should be released ASAP, but that, in the words of Tiy:
    "We won't flop."

And you will be the person that complains about how shit the game is on early release. Why is everything you post negative.

I can give one example of why not to rush games:
    Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)
Rushing leads to scrapped features, scrapped items, errors in general (the game manual lists an upgrade that doesn't exist), and more glitches than you can yell "It's no USE!" at.

Wow, I feel hated. People are flaming me.
Guys, from what I've seen the game looks really good already. All of you are acting as though if they release it now, the game will be terrible and no one will like it.

    Sorry for having opinions.

  14. Good luck then

Because it *can* be terrible. Chances are, it likely will. You're getting negative feedback because people don't like your opinion.

Opinions are good, but there is not really anything solid showing that it is near completion; hence the 'flame.' I discovered this game after a bit of searching online after finishing Terraria. From what I have seen so far, it looks promising. The dev showed us some great ideas and the bits and pieces they are working on, but it does not feel like they are putting it together yet. Ideas come first then they will probably try to put everything together so that it will work smoothly, then of course intense bug squashing for several weeks. This is possibly why most people's opinions differ from yours. I also feel that they do not have anything presentable yet, but it is always possible that they are near completion and is already towards the final stage and patching up everything but have not showed us any of the major contents yet. Possible, but I like to underestimate so I can't be disappointed. ;p

  18. Well, i think the game is going along well, and i totally agree. I will wait however long it takes for this game to come

Cortex Command should have never been released yet. That game still isn't ready.

  20. Soup

Quite true. It's still very buggy, there's no online multiplayer, the singleplayer mode is too simplistic and not even remotely balanced, and what were they thinking making the interface text so damn small?
