Here are the upcoming ship-updates

When Tiy mentioned that what he basically wants to make of ship combat is multiplayer Faster Than Light ;

 

Picture it. Boarding especially!

 

As previously stated by a number of fellow space travellers I love the idea of expanding my ship, and would prefer the option of either purchasing via vendor or building via blueprint (using various resources I've laboured to gather) individual modules so I can put them any damn place I please. Maybe I want a big quarter moon, or two huge wings with a wee tiny cockpit in the centre, or a big Flying "F".. whatever the design, this level of customization would be the bomb and help personalize our own little universes even more.

 

Its all about customization, yes you can have the racial aesthetics for the pre-made ships sure, but we can also have ships we make our selfs. Just because you don't want such a feature does not mean every one else dose not want it. If there is enough support from the community for it, I'm pretty sure the devs will add it. And it isn't like such a feature would be hard to implement seeing as multiple ppl have already moded it in. So time and effort isn't an excuse to not implement it. If you do not like a feature, you don't have to use it.

 

Looks great, can't wait to see the others. That expanded bridge in the final upgrade is really cool, too.

I think it is just a picture, like an idea about what it could be like. It might be very different!

They look weird to me. I can't put my finger on why, but it looks oblong and... Idk, just weird. I think it might be the symmetrical designs of the latter ships...

Maybe I'm just used to the modder's designs which are more Spaceship-meets-Naval Ship, it just looks natural IMO.

I think they look symmetrical because the pictures are just plans. I don't think the ships will look that way in the game. It looks like Tiy made a quick picture copying parts of the ship to show the plan!

 

Those look so much better than the proposed upgrades.

 

I hope so. I think that's another part of why they look so weird, really looking at them it does in fact look like a really hurried copy/paste Photoshop job.

 

Anyone else reminded of the Hammerhead-class cruiser?

 

build stairs or double jump as you would be more than likely to get both before you even begin to upgrade your ship

and by repeating wires you mean what the walls look like without background blocks?

Mock-up is the word I was trying to remember. I think the picture is a mock-up. I think Tiy is editing the picture to see what ships might look like. I think they will be much better in the finished game!

 

Hi, are we able to upgrade our ship in the future ? Small ship > ... > Amazing ship ? :c

 

I hope this is the case. That works decently for human ships I suppose, but I really hope each race gets their own layout and design in accordance with the flavor of their race. Or, after tier 1, ships just have different classifications and tiers, and the player is free to choose their own, rather than preset upgrades for each race.

And, racial ship upgrade quests. I want to -- for the funnies, reason be damned -- single-handedly raid a space station, kill and eat its inhabitants, and take the ship of my choice for my own, as a floran.

 

What? Look at the rest of the thread, there are tons of people that like how they look.

I get posting "am I the only one..." or "is it just me that..." when there are tons of people stating the opposite opinion up until that point, but the first 6 pages are almost unanimous praise of the designs...

Not only are you not the only one, you're clearly in the majority?...

 

More room for decorations is welcome. While I don't need nearly this much space for crafting stations and farming, this layout would allow me to have multiple different themed rooms for each dungeon I visit, or for every member of a party playing together to have a little personal space on the one ship they usually share.

That said, I think the second to last stage is probably enough...

 

Yes I think too, actually our ship is very small, I can't to decorate and to put my chests..

 

Well, having more room is really great. It will allow me to make my own glitch civilisation in the ship.

And the Great Computer will be revered in a dedicated room

Joke aside, the design of the ship is good i think. And for people who don't like it, mod will help change this
