Full stop means you're stopping the sentence right there? How about half stops? Can they stop a sentence?

 

A half stop would probably denote a comma, which does not, in fact, end a sentence; alternatively, it may refer to the semi-colon ( ; ), which also does not end a sentence but does form a complete thought.
A full stop, or period, ends each sentence, unless it is otherwise ended with an exclamation mark (!), question mark (?), or interrobang (!?).

 

Sorry, I meant a period. Isn't dot the same thing as period but used in web addres' and email addres'?

 

Oh, I didn't intend to correct you, I was just clarifying how punctuation is used.
And yes, dot would refer to the period in web addresses (community dot playstarbound dot com) or email addresses (person@somemail dot com).
