acceptable to who? I guess you would kill a lot of quest givers but I don't think you would lock yourself out of progression.
But acceptance? that's asking a lot...

 

Nah man,only one hooker gives quests and I failed it,turns out you can loot quest rewards from bodies and remember,Adam Jensen don't take no shit from nobody.At least the hobos in Shanghai are nice people,didn't get a single reason to kill one yet.

 

uh, what? A number of people give quests in Detroit. of course, they need to be alive for that...

 

Those mercenary dudes are the only ones breaking my pasifist run. Those goddamn murderers...

 

I think that, so far, the only Deus Ex that allows for a real pacifist run is, ironically, DX2. If I recall correctly both dx and dxrh absolutely requires you to pull your weapon at least once, even if you just render them unconscious.

what ruined my "nonlethal" run in Human Revolution the first time I played it was the ambush. I could've escaped, but I wasn't about to let Malik die. There was no time to knock everyone unconscious though, I had to make a compromise.

 

By 'pacifist run' I meant no kills. No kill runs are so anoying. They give you all these toys and make you feelbad if you do use them.

 

Yeah, I always thought that term was inaccurate. I doubt many people whose faces were introduced to my synthetic fist would say I'm "peaceful"... ;P

 

As a matter of fact I have. After walking a few miles from the mechanic to the nearest shopping mall because I left my motorcycle for a few repairs, I am having some chimichangas.
