HELP STARBOUND CRASH E3

Unfortunately I'm right. We are Brazilians, they are from Argentina. Portuguese is pretty similar with castteliano, so I can understand him.

As an almost psychologist, I can say how strong an authority figure is. He's famous there, and his votes will grow. Maybe the only chance to win this is having the devs ask for support from your community.

You can also look for vloggers, try the famous ones from U.S., like angry Joe or videogame nerd. That's what we're trying here in Brazil. As soon as we get to a vlogger, our votes will grow, and maybe surpass yours.

Truth is: project Neumann or starbound must win (preferably Neumann xD) but not this guy

I'm curious about what your dev team has to say about this. In any case, both games may win the tickets, but the traveling costs are very high for Brazilian standards. Just for curiosity sake, I'd have to work for 5 months (without spending on food out bills) just to pay the airplane company. That's why first place is all important for us. The concept apply for this argentin Kid.

We will still pick a good fight, watch out

 

Let this amazing game be shared widely in E3 2013. Let Starbound be the next Minecraft! (as in success)

Guys... We raised a million dollars. A freaking million. Starbound also has a spot on steam already. This contest is to take a company/single developer who would otherwise have no chance to go to E3 with their game a shot to do just that. Starbound doesn't need to dominate every single opportunity for success that comes around during it's development time. Let one of the little guys have a chance to get some spotlight. Lay off a bit.

it's actually mine, as you can see by my forum name >_>. i really wish youtubers would just save their money and leave these kind of rewards for those with no job, no proper income (which is me) instead of taking advantage of simply yay! free stuff! get the fans! living in australia has been so hard to live with no gaming conventions until this year. he can EARN his place to go to E3, i can't, all i can afford if i save every penny is a passport prior to E3.

 

Aren't you doing the same thing? Seriously, c'mon. You don't know if he can earn his way to go to E3, which is probably why he's doing the contest.

E3's not that great, anyway. I went as a reporter for a now defunct website in 2005. If you don't have a press pass or credentials, good luck getting the time of day from many developers. It's not as fun as videos make it out to be, and swag is usually reserved for "important" press. It's really only a big deal if you're in to consoles and want to play early builds of games for the meager price of a 2 hour wait in line.

 

Well, the IndiesCrash twitter said that multiple votes from varying emails IS cheating.

So don't do it guys. It may be the only hope we have of seeing some justice there.

 

I realize that Starbound doesn't need this, that E3 really isn't that important.

It just leaves a foul taste in my mouth knowing that, in the end, the winner is most probably going to be someone that's there to ride side seat with someone with selfish wants that just happened to have a popular youtube account. It's not fair on Saibot since this has tarnished my opinion of what looks like an alright game.

 

I believe that no one here can say that Starbound really fits in among the other 9 on that list since it is natural to feel empathy towards game developers who haven't been as successful as Starbound has. Yes Starbound is great, some call it near perfect, and I myself would love to let the world know but at what expense? I would like to think that the majority of people here feel at least a little bad towards Project Neumann, who is in third place, who would have been 1st if not for these youtuber and Starbound giants. That said I personally, and I hope many agree, would love to see Project Neumann beat this youtuber and put him to even more shame than that he has already deserved. This does not however mean that Starbound will back down but it has come to the point where I think it is a race against the clock not for first place but in order to beat what we perceive as wrong. If anyone beats him Starbound will be happy as a whole. Wish you luck in the fight and remember that the voting ends at midnight of the 15th but not the fight!

 

But he didn't posted "Hey vote here i am so happy to go to E3" + you know about the other projects on the website.

SWEET to see that a votesystem for indiedeveloper getting THIS abused. i allready voted fore chucklefish, but i havend good enough thinked about it. Stabound/chucklefish isnt anymore a litte cellar-kid-dev-team. And this little prick from the youtube vid with this begging makes it harder to near impossible to get the "indies" on E3.

Please not missread this. Doorways looks amazing and starbound leaves me stunning wenn the stream of Tiy ends. But in the end both shouldn't win because of the pingu-cat-o-epicness of starbound and cheating attempts of the little lurker form the vid.

Erm, no, don't do this.
We are keen on going to E3 (I know I am!) and we are doing things to rally in votes. I have written something about it in the newsletter and I'll be putting up a front page post today. The contest ends May 15th-- we have plenty of time.

But do not suggest that people help us win through shady means. Thanks.

 

If Tiy, the guy how is allways smiling in my imagination, giving this kind of response, there must something wrong going on here.

 

^_^ Yes ma'am, sorry. It seemed to be a sentiment many people were discussing and mirroring. I just stated it in harsher terms, which is why I stated in my post I didn't support the idea myself. I'll refrain in the future though my apologies.
