    I will

On Hamachi before you can make your friends join your server you need to make a network. You need to start by pressing Network and then Create. Like this:

Next type in your own unique ID and password. Once that is made up tell your friend to press Network and press Join. Tell him or her your ID and password for them to join.

Once they are in the network next to their name there should be a green dot. If it's green the connection between you two are fine. If its red or Blue, there's a problem.

If its green you launch your Starbound Server and you join using your Local IP address (normally 192.168.???.???)

You tell your friend to connect using YOUR IPv4 which is given on Hamachi. If you don't know what that is its located here:

If things work fine they should connect to the server no problem

Multiplayer operates where you go onto servers hosted by yourself or others. You can join other servers without any extra downloads (unless the server requires mods). Hosting your own server requires some more effort, as you'll need to set the whole thing up.

Worlds that you have in singleplayer will not automatically transfer to a multiplier world.

Let's say you have a world with a house on it in singleplayer.
Once you make the server, going to the singleplayer world's coordinates and finding it in multiplayer would have the same planet, but anything you did on it (ex. mine, make a house) would not be present.

I do believe one could copy the world's files from the singleplayer's universe directories to the server's universe directories.

Don't they? I thought things were transferred between Single Player and Multi Player?

If you wanna know how to play in Multi Player its a bit more complicated than pressing a button and inviting friends (sadly)

To play with friends you will either need to port forward your router (there's tutorials all over the internet, but you do need to find your specific make and model of modem) Or if that's too troublesome you could download a third party application like Hamachi or Evolve to create connections between you and your friends to connect easier to the game.

If you have any other questions let me know. I'll try to help where and when I can :D

Player files are the same in both singleplayer and multiplayer. World files are not the same.

At least, I think that's the case. I could entirely be wrong about this, as I've never tested it before.

"IP" is basically just some numbers that say "I want to connect to ______". Public servers usually have their IP provided.

Its more than likely the IP of your local area network I am not too sure.

You can connect to your own Multi Player server by letting the CMD window fully open and waiting for it to load completely and join using your local IPv4 address

    Sometimes. But not very often.

Also that will work to connect to your friends when playing Minecraft too
