Help me learn to appreciate the Apex...

It seems like many races have both protaganist (Player-Character) and antagonist factions. For me, the "scientific" pursuits of the Apex are simply another action taken by this antagonist half.

Why do I personally like the apex? Well, first off they remind me of the old Planet of the Apes movies and that makes me smile. Secondly, I love the concept of a race that is mentally advanced while physically devolved to a more primal state (Similar to the character Beast from the X-Men comics). Lastly, I'm a sucker for characters that fight against injustice, and player-Apex are more or less members of the resistance AGAINST the Big Ape's tyranny in their society.

All that, plus as many banana jokes and ape puns as you can think of.

 

Florans can also make a good meal using only starting ingredients. Boneboo + Meat Chunks = Meat & Marrow, which gives regeneration, just like burgers.
