Help get the Narrator of Bastion to do a Voice in Starbound

I think the narration may be for the trailer, not the game.

 

This please.

 

So it's just me who doesn't like the gravelly-voice narrator guys then?

Is anyone else here mildly confused?

On one hand we have tons of silly mobs and some silly items and weapons. On the other hand we have apparently dark intros for all the races meaning we'll likely get a more serious story.

I really hope they can manage a consistent theme if they really are pushing forward with going lore heavy. I don't wanna say... Have a totally serious moment where someone dies or something and then walk 20 feet and see a magical rainbow unicorn that wants me to take his chocolate to the mystical mustache fairy.

Nope. I've gotten tired of them, and since it was pretty much Bastions only notable feature I never saw the draw of that game.
Fallout can keep one though. Grandfather clauses and all.

Reminds me of the movie Click with Adam Sandler.. One minute it's a stupid Adam Sandler movie with Christopher Walken doing Adam Sandler and Christopher Walken stuff, then BAM sideswiped from random out of the blue super-serious deathbed scene. My brain had no idea what hit it.

That and Ron Perlman's voice isn't gravelly it's just really deep. I'm talking specifically about the guys who sound like they drink train smoke milkshakes for breakfast.

 

How about we hire Michael Kirkbride to write a bit of lore?

Anyone...?

i think we should have different voice actors for each race, here's a list of people we'd never get/my idea.
Nova kids=Logan cunningham (rucks)
apex=Phil Lamar (every black dude in 90's animation, and samurai Jack)
Humans=Ron Pearlman
Avain=Liam Neeson
Glitch=Da Xing
Florains=Carolyn Seymour
Hylotl=Idk Mike Rowe

god this thread has so many awful opinions and ideas

if the Bastion narrator guy wants to do it, he'll do it. Leave him alone. If he wanted to do more voice acting things, I am sure he would have

 

a. It would cost a lot I bet.
b. We don't need a super well known voice actor. It's an indie game and thus an indie VA would make more sense, heck the VA is probably going to be one of the staff.
c. He's working on a project already! If you don't know this then look it up! After Bastion he's now doing VA work for the next game by the company called Transistor.

 

I'm not sure I'd want Logan to do Starbound. That voice is so entrenched in Bastion it is hard to sepparate the two. Starbound should set out with it's own narrator. Could be someone with other projects but not someone who so recently was literally the voice of a game.

 

How about Don Cherry for the intro?

 

While he does do a fantastic narration, it would break the immersion for me in Starbound. I'd be far too busy thinking "oh cool, the guy from Bastion" instead of enjoying the narration and game. I would much rather have a narrator with a voice less recognizable.
