    Well I'd like to think that if they're willing to fly to Isengard to pick up Gandalf, or fly to Minas Tiri-whatever-it's-called and fight a bunch of dragon-y ringwraith things, or hell, even willing to fly to Mount Doom at the end to pick Frodo up, they should have been willing to "stray" in the beginning. xD

    (On a side note, I hope you understand that I do not take this question seriously, I just think of it as a funny thought. Of course I understand that there would be no story otherwise.)
