Hi all! I just made my account earlier this morning after dropping some bills on the Starbound pre-order. I discovered this game about three days ago after reading about people comparing it to a recently Greenlit game on Steam called Edge of Space. Long story short, the sheer breadth of this game's features, coupled with my desire for games like this (originally a long-time Terraria and Minecraft player), attracted me greatly and now I cannot wait for its release later this year. I've been gaming since 1986 and am a huge Nintendo and PC gamer - mostly PC these days, but I picked up a Wii U for my birthday earlier this month and still have working consoles from yesteryear. I've always had a knack for map design via map editors (created stages for games like Duke Nukem 3D and Unreal Tournament), though I never got into formal game development. Lastly, I'm a huge proponent of DIY projects and maintaining/fixing anything one buys. I look forward to getting to know the Starbound community and potentially playing alongside you in planetary exploration! =)
Hello there SilentMage, welcome to our community Old gamer eh! I'm Mr.Bacon, the Official Bacon of Starbound. If you ever need some Bacon, just Call Me!
Thanks for the welcome! Happy to be here! If serving up bacon isn't a form of cannibalism to you, then by all means, bring me a platter!
Another newcomer ! AaaaaaAAAaaaaaaAAAaaaaAA ! Welcome SilentMage ! This community is great and helpful at that, I'm sure you'll find some great people to play Starbound with in here
DC = District of Columbia, United States. I was asked that by a commuter the first time I visited London after stating I was from DC earlier this year. Lesson learned: Don't use shorthand for city names when overseas. I definitely look forward to the multiplayer possibilities once Starbound hits. Hopefully the game can support MMO-levels of players on a single server, but up to 64 is fine, too. And thank you for the energetic welcome!
