So you see Tiy doing hundreds of damage points to enemies and not even killing them, but the player health is just a few red cubes. It just seems weird to me. Do the "hearts" fade away gradually like terraria, or is that all you got, like Minecraft? I would assume that they fade away gradually, because let's say you're in PVP against a guy with ten bars and your gun/sword/banana does 180 damage? That wouldn't make sense.

Tiy is likely using bizzare settings for testing purposes, what you see in these demonstrations won't be in the final game.

It's just a bar that rounds to the nearest tenth. It's not a one health per box thing.

i'd like to see something a bit more dynamic than a few little bars though.
maybe they could put numbers next to the bars so we could see it easier?
    e.g.: 134/500 hp

Adding numbers to the bars seems like something small that could be done pretty easily. As stated above, I suspect that things like this have not been finalized yet. Technically Starbound is in Alpha so things like "balancing" most likely have not received a lot of development time yet.

Did I miss a stream today?! And I don't know anything about the healthbars, cause I don't know if health increasing would add more blocks or not.

Minecraft has more than one HP per Heart.

  9. The boxes in the bars are just big increments; they don't actually represent one "hit". Though, it would be helpful if the health bar were labelled.

Good point, but it is still on a very small scale.

you have to understand the game is still indev in this stage the mobs health algebra is likely random (aka WIP) meaning the health is sometimes very big or vary small since the devs use overpowered admin gear to test this doesn't matter right now and will be changed later:)....hopefully:ninja:

I (hope) think there will be an Option to let show up numbers next to the red bars.

To the topic. I don't know if I approve of it yet or not, maybe numbers would help or maybe in the end they will represent 10/100 or some kind of numerical value (wouldn't 7 be fun). Until we get more information on it I'm on the fence.
