Some materials which are used in crafting should be potentially hazardous to mine, Requiring gear beyond - Pick of appropriate level, Perhaps it would be possible to implement blocks with hazardous auras (radioactive) which require protection to mine, or blocks that are volatile and require additional precautions when excavating. they could also have telltale visual auras I would not implement such an idea for low level ores, but once you start to reach more exotic minerals or deeper levels of strata then perhaps these could come into effect, Tiles which I have encountered which would work with additional effects Flesh Tile Sewage Tile - Poisonous Gasses Slime Block - Could release the acidic/poisonous liquids once mined Tiles which I have been told about Uranium/Plutonium - Radiation I am sure there are more.
I do like this idea. Poison in general is annoying, but radioactive/superheated materials as extra challenge on hard planets would be an intriguing addition.
