Namely that every page I check up on tells me something different. I've thoroughly explored 2 planets in a radioactive star, down to Core Fragments, and not found a single Uranium Ore, so the wiki changelogs that refer to Uranium no longer being obtainable through mining seem accurate, but they also mention that a price was added. Well, I go to the trusty Ore Merchant, and while they're selling Plutonium Rods, which I have no need for yet, there are no Uranium Rods. Where do you find / obtain Uranium now?
Good lord, I was searching for it this whole time without just looking to see how Durasteel was actually crafted. I guess that clears up a lot. Thanks.
You will at some point need Uranium, but it's no longer on radioactive planets. It can be found in the lower level of "airless" biome planets.
Technically that did not remove the ore. As it would appear as a "Perfectly Generic Item" one my old character. So it is still in the resources; however whether it is obtainable or not I do not know. Could be higher tiers for all I know. I haven't investigated this, as my newest character has yet to leave the first planet. Getting distracted by other things new in the game, and bogged down with inventory management. It is possible since it is in the resources that they may have some other use for it in the future, but as to what I am unsure.
I have not seen it anywhere in months on nightly. I thought they took it out completely. The only lower level airless biome I have been to is a moon, so maybe it is still there.
The asset is still in the game, which is why they were not converted into Perfectly Generic Items. However, it no longer spawns on any planet type. So you simply can't find any in the world anymore. The wiki page is up to date with this information. The devs went through and changed any recipes or quests that previously used Uranium.
