So i launched starbound, and it started patching; I was like, huh, and read over the patch notes and thought it was really cool, so I got excited

Then after it finished patching, it immediately went back into queue at 100% completion; from this state, it said starbound needed to be updated, even though I had just updated, and could not update (nor could i play starbound) due to aforementioned 100% completion

So I instead just tried pressing play, and it gave me some steam error (something about disk write error, searched up solutions, nothing worked)

Tried just manually moving the completed files into their respective folders, didn't work (stuck at loading)

Tried deleting patch data 4 times, steam started doing really odd stuff (it gave me 4 different starbound patches, all from 12/11, but with different sizes: 537 mb, 564 mb, 534 mb, 581.3 mb)

Worked perfectly fine before this, dunno what happened but as far as I can tell, every error is steam related; also, my other steam games run fine, but for some reason not starbound

Already tried unchecking the "read only" thing for entire steam and running as admin, didn't work

tl;dr steam downloaded patch, then went back into queue after downloading, then downloaded patch again, then went back into queue, starbound never started and this is all the space hobos' doing isn't it

...>can we just have a standalone version of starbound, because my problems are with steam itself (I don't really know much about this technical release stuff so I don't really have any idea how hard that would be, maybe create a separate installer that you manually download and install patches with)
