Has the game been made fully OpenGL?

it has dawned on me that maybe the reason my game now lagspikes everytime i mouse over anything in the main menu
and it throws me all of those "Fatal Error : access violation" things everytime i try to play is maybe because the game has switched to openGL completely
it acts very similarly to the lagspikes i had when playing tf2 some years ago, just that much, much heavier

is there a way to change this via launch options or am i doomed to never ever play the game again?
it's really frustrating but i guess i should have seen it coming
hope there's a way to ask for a refund because this is not what i paid for
my specs, for as old as they are, were in the steam store page at the moment i bought the alpha
i guess i just paid for the bad times i had during the pre-release

sometimes i feel like im seen as some kind of crazy old man in the forums now
i've been posting my issues and my bugs at the support subforums , my specs, my logs, and i haven't been getting not even a miserable reply
i think im out, time to see if steam can get me a refund. the game just released so maybe it's not so impossible

Have you tried running the game in xp compatibility mode? Could help.

By the way I deleted the opengl32sw.dll from my win32 and win64 folders - I haven't verified that it was using the openglsw or not (I assume it's a software backup layer for some gpus) but it seems to run better now and I thought maybe that's the cause of your problems?
