That is what I thought... Just been a while since I have played that edition. Made the table, just didn't look at it for very long. That and being on unstable for a while awaiting this update well... just been a while... Thank you.:)

Looked at the force gates mod, and I want it in game, now I don't know why they picked skyrails over it. Force gates seems to be much better, but needs some work here and there.

i thought i had the easy part done terraforming a 4,000 block planet with only a fully upgraded matter manipulator (should get one more power upgrade, it takes forever to mine dire stone which is EVERYWHERE on barren planets) until it was flat, but its taking forever to get enough skyrails.[DOUBLEPOST=1423088118][/DOUBLEPOST]At least you can spawn skyrails, i dont know the exact command, but i spawned some titanium and uranium to make durasteel for skyrails using /spawnitem uraniumrod 1000 and /spawnitem titaniumbar 1000 after using /admin

I found a way to fork skyrails, using the rails crafted out of gold. You can only really fork upwards from a flat line though, from my testing.
What you do is get one of the gold rails in the flat line, then you can place a second gold rail diagonally up from that. Depending on which type of gold rail is used you will go up or down without holding any keys, otherwise, hold up (W) or down (S) to force that direction.

They are definitely too expensive though, and the alternate rail types should not use extra durasteel.

I am definitely gonna be spawning in stuff to build with though, gathering materials really isn't fun in this game.

Skyrail expert here, Highways, jumps you name it. Back when heaters were needed in the stratosphere, I built a highway spanning the entire planet and a lower highway with some complex jumps, which were needed to prevent interference with some taller trees. Once skyrail 2.0 was added to the official game, I had to redo my entire climb with booster rails.

Regarding climbs, you need to pick up momentum before you hit the incline. Be sure you are using booster rails all the way up, or you wont be getting anywhere.

i found a way thats real easy, just get a lot of momentum, when the tree is there, just build right past it, you wont be able to place rails for like 2 spaces, but it will make the jump without any force upwards.

I use trees as "convenient" excuses for skyrail hops. :D

Sorry for the double post but I wanted to post this seperately because I'm going to veer off on another tangent of what can really make the most out of skyrails, other than sometimes messy point-to-point transportations or joyrides.

If applied correctly, you can let skyrails be your building assistant. Great for large-scale or entire map-wide projects.

I use them for my tower dungeon project, which zigzags all the way to the top of the world over a wide area (inside the tower) I plan to use that to lay vertically spaced platforms from top to bottom, demolishing any skyrail in the way, until I reach the base of the tower, for which I then use the platforms to build tile background for the tower and then all that remains is level design and wired monster spawners, switches doors, obstacles, etc.

Then teleporters update shows up and says Ha! Ha!

I manage to use Skyrail in Koala providing a way to go from an underground base to another.
The only thing I missed was the ability to go on a vertical way.

I haven't try in Giraf but i planned to for an avian project.
