    I read official FAQ and there has been stated, that you succesfuly ran the game on even older machines. But the term "older" is quite relative... could you please give us some hardware specifications of the worst computer that was able to run this game? Just in case it isn't some sort of secret, of course...

    I asked Tiy on my Twitter this question and received this answer:

    @zentuts I don't have exact sys req for you yet, but the game isn't optimised fully yet and a bunch of devs are playing fine on very old HW

    So, yeah. I don't think they can tell you anything yet.

    I'm kind of hoping these "older" machines are more like pc's running 2k/xp.
    I use a Macbook Pro myself, but they said the game will be cross-platform on release.

    My definition of normal is a computer with a dual core processor and 2 gigs of ram. That was considered normal in '07.

    Define normal in '12. That computer would be considered drastically weak today.

    Newer computers that i have seen usually have a quad core processor and 4 gigs of ram for a low-end new computer. Mid range has 2 quad cores and 8 gigs. And high end has 4 quad cores and 16 gigs of ram.

    Normal: 1gb ram, normal Ati Radeon HD series 3450 graphics card (that couldnt even run MC).

    To run Minecraft you need some nice amount of RAM for it to be stable... ;)

    @OP
    I think it will be a bit higher than Terraria requirements... "a bit".
    So if Terraria works to you, there should be no problems :)

    Of course it will be higher, there's more details and much better animating in starbound which results in more ram needed for it, of course.

    Also, try at systemrequirementslab.com and tell us if you can run a high quality game :p.

    Yup. You should try running Terraria if there's an option for it there.

    i would imagine any pc/ laptop made after 07 ,not counting netbooks of course, should be adequate to due the job.
