Chucklefish publishing a game has nothing to do with the development of Starbound. Also, what are you talking about Starbound not being updated? It gets updated literally everyday.
Hey guys, don't buy this game if you want to unfairly blame a developer for already misplaced issues with another developer!! Yep, seems fair. Now if you will excuse me I need to go to the Insomniac forums and complain about the direction of Uncharted.
Another title I never knew about, brought to light because chucklefish shows it on their front page awesome! Great looking game and a huge fan of this genre. Will be buying this when it gets released. Thanks again for letting people know.
Doesnt look bad. But it says 'released' in July... Does this mean for the first time since what feels like forever there is going to be a game thats fully released, immediatly? No Early access, Beta, Alpha, Nightly, unstable branch, phase 1 or 3 that may or may not represent the true final product??? If true, hats.
Publishing these games has little no to impact on Starbound's development. The coders and artists and other mooks are still hard at work on it, while a couple of others in the studio might help with the marketing and distribution and whatnot of these other games. They're even making daily summaries for the ungrateful masses to show what they're actually doing with Starbound. And let's not forget the nightly build server, which provides a near-daily (albeit unstable, and likely broken) playable build in preparation for a massive stable update for everyone. If for some reason they stop doing daily news updates and the nightly build server, or indeed any other observable or tangible progress, and maybe even shut off contact, then we can start considering the possibility of the game being abandoned. Otherwise, it's simply not true. A long delay leading up to a large update does not equal abandonment. That's completely true of the final game, but unfortunately not so much of it in its current form. The first stage of the beta was never meant to be the full experience, and certainly not for everyone.
Really wishing I was born into a time and place where this sort of thing would hold more nostalgic appeal to me. Oh well. I might check it out later. It's 5:45 AM right now, so...
Focus on starbound first. You guys sure enjoy taking a boatload of other projects and ignoring your baby.
One thing you got to remember. CF is only the publisher - hence the developers are completely different. All CF does is provide contacts and distribution and resources. So if this is a game you would enjoy. I suggest getting it. CF has no influence in the development of and direction of the game. Personally I think the game looks great, can't wait to see it upon release. I was a huge fan of XCom - but personally I am going to see what others think about it before getting it.
Publishing doesn't take away from Starbound and daily updates show they are concentrating on their baby. You don't blame the office janitor for slowing down the game by emptying bins do you?
Sure it could. What happens if the Office Janitor was super hot and it completely distracted all the male and or female workers while he or she emptied the trash?

Never played aliens or xcom, but have played the original couple of fallout games. Though only remotely similar, it is the only comparison I have experience with. It does look similar, but totally different for obvious reason I would think. Anyway it looks to be a great game, and something down my alley. Love turn based strategy games. Well the ones I have played. I'll be sure to check this one out when I can. Still awaiting to get a few other games out there, so might be a bit before I can afford getting this one. Either way I am sure this one will be interesting to play.

I suppose that's true. I can't really comment since the janitor we have is old, male and overweight. He looks like a homeless Ghostbuster and keeps asking me if I watched the football.......I did not
People remember there are totally different teams working on other games that are being published by starbound and the people who are publishing those games are in totally different teams than the starbound developers.
