Guys -- let's try to keep things about Halfway specifically here and contribute to the thread in meaningful way. It's one thing to post about your disinterest, it's another to leave on tangent or to just be clutter.
This certainly looks to be quite interesting. I may very well end up purchasing this game. It looks, if not quite up my alley, reasonably close to being my kinda game. Also it looks fun.
Looks awesome will definitely be picking this up for 10 squid, my kind of tactical game with the charming pixel look. Loving it, also GL Chucklefish and Robotality looks like a good partnership forming.
Or what if it's like 10$ that will hold everything that Chucklefish published. Not like all games are at 10$
I might buy it at half price. *wink* Get it? I'm buying Halfway at half price?.... Ok, I am bad at this.
I'm curious at the game length and re-playability of it. If it only takes a couple hours to get through I tend to wait till a sale. Gotta be frugal.
*generic complaint about Chucklefish developing too many games* This does look pretty interesting, though. Definitely has an XCOM vibe to it.
I'm really excited about this. I saw this on a tumblr about a year ago it feels like, and I think back then I felt pinpricks of chuckles grabbin' this up. I'm excited to check this out and that the bun is almost out the oven. I'm excited. I drank coffee, sorry everyone.
There aren't enough good squad-turn-based strategy games being made. Hopefully this one will have some meat to it.
Saw the post. Realized it wasn't a dev blog. Expected limbs and bodies everywhere. Only two casualties so I'd call it acceptable losses. That said, Halfway looks pretty cool. I'll have to check it out!
Can we say that we have reason to warn people away from this game, such as belief that it will have poor support and updating?
Not in this thread -- but in another thread, and only if you have evidence to support your claims about the Halfway developers. And that thread would probably have to be in the Halfway forum.
PLEASE update the game you already released (Starbound). It's great and all that you're publishing all there indie games, but it's been MONTHS since a Starbound update. I could excuse it at first what with the office move and all, but by this point it seems to me that you've either mostly dropped Starbound, or simply stretched yourself too thin and don't have enough people working on the game anymore... I was willing to wait a few months for Terraria's gigantic update this past year because they added something like 500% more game content than what was already in there. I have yet to see any proof that this Starbound update will have anywhere close to enough content to justify the hunormous wait time... Can we at least get an extremely rough, non-binding ETA?
I suppose technically, it's an entirely different set of developers [ok, it's two guys in Germany, literally] so other than whatever CF "publishing" entails, there is no CF involvement in the game. [read: Tiy, George, et al aren't doing dev work on the game; at most I would imagine @mollygos does a bit since she is the "PR lady" for CF the company which spans more than just SB at this point; tho that wouldn't take away from SB development either]] While I might be onboard to lead the pitchforks and torches if CF said they were *developing* another game at this point, this simply isn't the case.
