This is interesting. I did not know that the intelligence of dolphins isbeing questioned.
However, I did know that dolphins engage in random acts of violence. They also rape—humans and dolphins both.

You raise a good question, one I don't have an answer to.
However.
I can't think of any macroscopic, non-plant, non-fungus organisms that don't have some sort of way of communicating with members of their own species. Even just scent trails or mating rituals. Maybe communication is a necessary part of survival at a macroscopic level?
Dammit, now I want to research this instead of doing my actual homework.

But once again, Australia is shafted and it's not a thing you can get here. I would like to get it though, and as I understand it, in the US you will get a code for it if you go into any gamestop store and put down a preorder for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (I think canada is different and you have to preorder both destiny and CoD).

So what I'm asking if is there is some US person from the thread who would be willing to go into gamestop, put $5 down or something and shoot the code (PS4) my way? The only other way I can see to get it, would be to buy the code from somebody online (risky, subject to availability) or go to EBGames canada website, preorder both destiny and CoD, wait a couple of days for the code via e-mail and hope I can cancel the pre-order before something fucks up and I'm down $200 (very risky)

I'm not proposing to do this for free either, I'm not sure what exactly I could give but I'd be happy to offer something like a $10 steam game for anyone who is willing, if not only as a sort of 'collateral'

 

i think the question is out of our league, though i feel that there was a line of probability that analysing brain waves would be a good idea.

but imagine a metallic rock with a meat inside.
they would be an apex clam race, fully evolved and extremely isolated to the point
where they dont need to communicate, and they eat by absorbing the things around them slowly, each one contains the total knowladge of their civilisation, they have all the features of intelligence, they think, they ponder, they plot, but some event caused them to evolve into such an isolated state. perhaps if one died it would segment itself so that each part carried the knowladge on, and they started again.
imagine what we'd be able to do if we could analyse the entire knowladgebase, of an ancient apex clam race.
imagine the possibilities.
