Well, recognizing this thread, of course. Finished a reread recently, actually.[DOUBLEPOST=1409598597][/DOUBLEPOST]Now, time to get in the habit of quoting those who I am answering the questions of.

 

Do you have problems manipulating fractions or something? (I don't mean that insultingly, it's an honest question)

Considering it's pre-calc, it's mostly preferred to just drag the fractions along and not represent them as decimals. It loses information and becomes less exact a lot of the time, and it's even worse if you apply operations like division, multiplication, exponentiation, etc. after they're expressed as decimals.

 

You'd be surprised with the amount of people who've come here without reading Homestuck.

EDIT: In the case of that simulation, I was using the mass units of 1E7 lunar masses, distance units of the distance between Earth and the Moon, and set the velocity to whatever "worked"

Guys, over the weekend (Friday/sunday, not saturday because work) I propose to host every other week a Dongernaut game or two, only Starstucks, no bullshit.

If it's something like (71-7n)/2 then I have no problem with it, but I learned decimals before I learned fractions, so if it's something like 12 ½ I generally convert the mixed number into a decimal. It helps me keep track of my calculations better. I'm good with fractions in general, but things like a fraction with a fraction in the numerator or denominator really confuses me (I never really learned that), and I'm not great at converting decimals to fractions by hand unless they're easy ones (0.25, 0.75, 0.333…, etc.). It helps that I didn't do any math all summer and that I only have one calculator that has the option of displaying answers in fraction form, and said calculator is currently dead and I don't have any of the batteries it needs.

He's annoyed because his name is spelled kawaiiChiimera. Two i's in the chimera bit. ;3
Also, welcome to the thread! You'll want to ==> ENTER NAME at some point (just say what you want us to call you), and eventually Relinies and Padexin are going to assign you a classpect. They're a bit behind on all that, though.
