Guys stop hating on the Starter pets

I can hate on something all I want. Starter pets are a terrible idea. Honestly I think pets in general are pretty dumb.

All the previews of this game I saw a week or so ago made it seem like this game was gonna be a cool game about exploring planets and building bases and doing space stuff. Now it seems like it wants to be some kawaii game about pet breeding and cute hats or some shit. Plus whats with all the furries on this forum? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. What game is this?!

 

Possibly because the utility of the stretch goals seems to diminish with every level. You'd think giving them progressively larger piles of cash, there would be bigger better features. Of course thats not the case with this game, as the stretch goals are aimed for launch and they don't want to have to push back launch for big new features.

 

Starter pets is a dumb thing to add when monster taming was already in the game.
"BUT YOU START OFF WITH IT TO MAKE THE GAME EASIER"
They do nothing at all.

 

You would be absolutely correct if they were doing it out of the blue just cause they felt like it.

However, they specifically asked for our opinions and input so they could review it to make additions, changes, and a more solid decision. They also specifically said they would avoid making it as large of a stretch goal as the previous ones to balance out it's potential "uselessness".

However, their response was to just continue on exactly as they had before with no sign that any of that was even taken into considering.

 

They can disguise their (love of anthropomorphic animals) quite well, especially in a game were one of the races is a bird. Every furry is probably going to play an Apex or an Avian to fit their "Fursona".

 

Oh damn. People must be really entitled huh. It's not like the main reason for the preorder is to have the stretch goals met. Not to mention they're adding the stretch goals to make use of some of the excess money they gained in preorder rather than using it for their own.

 

Personally I don't like the starter pets because it's pretty pointless IMO, we already have the ability to tame monsters. But meh whatever it's not like this is a huge deal I would have pre-ordered the game with no stretch goals at all. I just think they could have gone with something better but given that the devs don't want to delay the release it probably couldn't be helped.

Oh yeah, man. Having a pet completely changes the whole the game. They took out all of those things you saw in those previews just for this.

I'm pretty sure if the pets were already in game everyone would be fine about it and if we could pay to get 18 races and 3000 collectible items we will never ever get this damn game

There's a lot of overreaction going on in here... This starter pet stretch goal is not taking away from other features of the game so relax.

 

you are already paying for the game coming out quicker if they added a stretch goal called "money to buy a whip for my workers" so the game comes out sooner then I will be mad about it because it would seem pointless
