Gun drops

I'm curious, has anyone even seen a gun drop off a normal humanoid or mini-boss? All I find are these crappy melee weapons well into tier 4 planets.

I haven't seen one. Not that its not impossible to happen. I just haven't seen one drop yet.

 

Roomie had a crappy assault rifle drop in T2, not sure what dropped it though.

 

I got my first gun today in a chest at a penal colony. It fires EXTREMELY slowly (like 1 shot every 2 full seconds). But it does hit pretty hard. Still kind of disappointed when I miss my shot and have to wait 2 seconds for it to fire again, So I don't really use it...

I found it on a Level 4 planet

 

Also never seen a gun drop; I seem to remember one changelog stating that tier 2+ minibosses could drop them, but so far that hasn't happened for me.

 

I haven't seen one either, despite the many mini-bosses I've taken out (I thought starting Beta sector they were to at least have a good chance to drop guns).

 

I dropped a pretty cool pistol from a T3 miniboss before the wipe

 

A random Gamma sector miniboss dropped a real nice assault rifle pre-wipe - it fired piercing shots. Was great for clearing bunches of baddies. (Incidentally, the 'ammo' icon for piercing shots looks like a bullet with a tiny lit thrust port on the end)

 

I finally found a gun in a tier 4 chest. The damage is decent but the rate of fire is abysmal. Common drop to boot. This game seems to hate guns.

 

Players drop items?
