I was thinking, in Terraria i was lost in the beginning until i used the guide to help me figure out what to do. I was thinking that there should be a character that helps you get started, and shows you the crafting just as the guide in Terraria did. Meet, Guide 2.0: And yes i DID make him myself. He's a android (Didn't say he had to be human ) that will tell you stuff. Such as how to operate the space station, that you should mine underground and pretty much whatever you need to do at the beginning of Starbound. Really, since i plan on doing the game blind i will need a helping hand (Handy man by Frank Sinatra anyone?) to "Guide" me through the process of playing the game. Thank you, and this ends my suggestion. Please comment feedback.
Hmmm.... Im thinking Starbound is different from Terraria, and shouldn't copy it. When I first imagined this game, I thought you would create your character, you'd be plopped into the game, you walk down a hallway and talk to some people, who each teel you and demonstrate how to play the game..... No idea why I imagined something SO specific, but I did.
Why NOT pay a homage to Terraria? Wouldn't it be a somewhat meaningful thing to have some way of congratualting people for playing Terraria? THIS would be one of the better ways of paying a homage to Terraria. Atleast, that's my 2 cents. But where did you get COPY from? Are you saying that just because it's the same concept but done differently it's a rip-off? OR something else that i'm just being oblivious to?
I do like the idea of having a guide (tho i only used the one in terraira till i found the wiki) however, i think it needs to have a Starbound flavor, to set it apart. The android is an option (and one i like) but a computer or robot could fill the void as well. or even an item that scans things. just so long as there is SOMETHING around to help. i have played alot of games that just drop you off and say good luck, fun at times but other times i would really like to know what i can make form space rock etc.
Alright, Im not exactly sure why I used copy, but im just saying It should be different. Short and Sweet.
Ah Morrowind, good times. But i'm glad that you think so. I was just thinking that since this game has such a heavy or mediocre "Taste" of Terraria that it needed something reminiscient of it.
Wouldn't it be more practical if the guild was not human/alien/other? Building on nic329 idea. Could this "guide" be the space station AI of the space station? This could better link the aspect of Starbound together I think.
Even better. That's more or less one of the reasons that there's the ability comment. Feedback, for one, and your idea seems like the best idea so far. But who knows? Somoene might come along and come up with an idea that makes me look at your comment and saying "Wow that's sh*t compared to this".
Yeah... yeah the AI thing sounded better. I really like that idea. So much in fact that i made some sprites... may I post them? I will give credit
Wouldn't mind a guide, as long as I can shoot him when I'm done with him. Or better yet just freeze him in ice and detha him when needed
