    Sick of having to redo all the quests every time you make a new character? Don't like doing quests? think the quests are too challenging or boring? Don't mind a little cheating to get to where you want? well heres the thread for you!
    Using a command I obtained from Tech Freek here on the forums I put together a string of commands that should enable all the body techs so you can just go out and explore space from the get go with out having to do all the mandatory quests.
    I mainly made it for my friend so we could just explore like we used to with out having to go through all his quests painstakingly just to play and explore together since he only plays the game with me and the quests usually just end up wasting our time.

    Instructions:
    Enter Single Player Mode.
    Enter each command separately. you may not be able to paste each one directly into starbound. ive had some problems doing so for some reason. (the copy (cntrl C) and paste(cntrl V) seem kinda buggy in starbound sometimes)

    /admin

    /aiaction {"action": "showTech", "techName": "breathprotectionTech"}

    /aiaction {"action": "showTech", "techName": "radiationprotectionTech"}

    /aiaction {"action": "showTech", "techName": "coldprotectionTech"}

    /aiaction {"action": "showTech", "techName": "heatprotectionTech"}

    /admin

    Entering all of these should give you all the shield techs and let you explore the universe at will.

    But if you want to take it a step further...
    (make sure you have your mouse INSIDE your ship or the items will spawn outside where your mouse is and you wont be able to get them)
    WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!: USING THE ITEMS BELOW WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO UPGRADE YOUR MATTER MANIPULATOR OR GET THE PAINT OR WIRING TOOL
    /admin

    /spawnitem FTLrepairkit

    /spawnitem shipT8

    /admin

    UPDATE thanks to Teh Freek we now have a way to get your tools!
    /admin
    /aicommand giveBeamaxe
    /aicommand givePainttool
    /aicommand giveWiretool
    /aicommand upgradeBeamaxe1
    /aicommand upgradeBeamaxe2
    /aicommand upgradeBeamaxe3
    /aicommand upgradeBeamaxe4
    /aicommand upgradeBeamaxe5
    /aicommand upgradeBeamaxe6
    /admin

    And there you have it. the universe is your oyster. free to be explored at your will.

    Careful doing this this way. You can't upgrade your matter manipulator afterwards, or get the paint and wiring tool.

    It's really the only drawback. IIRC there's a command to upgrade MM but I can't remember what it is.

    oh really? dang... didn't know that. it would seem they made the upgrade progression way too dependent on other variables...

    if someone could post the commands to enable all of those in their final upgraded forms ill add them to the original post.

    Edit: yeah just realized that my TESTER glitch doesn't have the ability to even get his matter manipulator
    spawned one in tho.... but its an item

    Yeah. The best way to do this as of now is to go to the outpost and spawn the items that you need for the quests. It's... A total pain, but much quicker then /actually/ doing them.

    The commands are "givePainttool", "giveWiretool", and "upgradeBeamaxe1" through "upgradeBeamaxe6".

    how are those used exactly? like in the code string?
    aicommand?
    aiaction?...

  7. Teh Freek

    Teh Freek Void-Bound Voyager

    Sorry, they're performed via /aicommand. aiaction takes JSON that describes the action, aicommand performs the command named in a .aicommand file composed of one or more actions.

    I tried typing /aicommand "givePainttool" but it keeps telling me its not right.

    Give just the name, e.g. "/aicommand givePainttool".

    ah perfect! thanks
    what was really strange is after giving myself "beamaxe" SAIL had the action to enable teleporter. (never beamed to a planet on this test glitch...)

    Yeah, the giveBeamaxe command enables the enableTeleporter command as one of its actions.

    Youd think the FTL repair and shiptier8 items would atleast enable some of these codes... then again its not like your actually supposted to obtain them...

    Someone should just summarize all these commands in one mod so that you can unlock all this by picking up an item that you can spawn for yourself (sad that i dont have any modding skills at all :oops: )

    This is all going to change bigtime anyway since this was written for a build released over a year ago which saw massive changes over the course of months and the final result will have even more.
