Hey guys, I'm going to be defeating the beta sector boss soon. Don't ask why I'm not further as I can only play Starbound 1 hour each week. So guys, do you know any good tactics. Also, feel free to post "cheat" ways.

The simplest way is get some dirt blocks ready, When you active the boss quickly enclose it in the dirt. Open a small gap in the side and start hitting it with your weapon through the gap. Soon kills it.

Or dig a hole and jump in. The boss will be above you and unable to get down and you can just sit there firing arrows at his butt.

And how to defeat the Y-sector boss?

But that sucks the fun out of it and If you beat the boss before you have the
appropriate skill/equipment then you are going to die a lot in the next sector.

Just build a nice flat area with lots of platforms. It gives yourself a lot or area to move around in,
which you can use to avoid the boss and his attacks.
Make sure you have the best armour for that tier and a decent weapon.

Use buff items before you start the fight, and use healing items when your health gets low.
Use ranged weapons like bombs, knives, molotovs and guns.
Switch to melee weapons when out of energy or ranged items.

The bosses are fairly easy when you are well prepared.

Cant remember which the y sector boss is, but the same tactics generally work. Bury yourself or the boss in a bunker and make a hole to fire through. WIth the Dragon its slightly different as he hovers above you so make a shelter and stand at the edge. The fire wont hit you and you can shoot at him.

The Y-sector boss is the dragon that spits fire. I think it will be hard to defeat it.

The dragon you can use turrets or a gun through a hole. If memory servers right I made a huge area like [ _____] and lured him close to a wall so he's got a ceiling over him and its harder for him to fly away.

Bosses in the game aren't worth fighting legit until the high spawn summon items are removed or prices reduced. The dragon is one boss that can 1 hit you with it's fire attack + 1 fast burn even in the best armor you can make for that tier. The ufo is maybe the only boss worth fighting legit, the robot with its crazy high spawn cost is not even while rather easy because if something goes wrong you might lose up to a day of your life getting the ores and brain again.

The jelly boss is one of the few bosses I don't build an area for, I just find a nice npc place I can duck into like the roof of an apex condo.

I did exactly the same as you 556.
But at v7.0 I died and the ufo was still there till I defeated it.
But now every time I kill bosses, I get 5 of their items. (5 molten cores, 5 processors, 5 bones)

I don't really agree. The bosses are easy as long as you take time to prepare with the right armor, and other than the brain for the robot it doesn't really take much effort to make the summoning item. I always have and still do fight bosses head on, even in perma-death. As long as you fight them somewhere you have room to move they are all pretty easy.

Here's a tip to really cheese them though if you don't like fighting them. Summon them on a pirate ship.

the robot brain was the easiest part. after 2 kills with the gun I got it.

Fight the mobs legit. Putting dirt around everything can only *shades on* sully the experience.

1 time was easy for you doesn't mean its not 200+ for others. I'm usually lucky and get it within 20 tries but sometimes people get very bad luck.

If you play permadeath the boss grind can get very bad, which is why I started using hub worlds where an alpha planet had all the boss tech tables.

i killed it just with a shoddy hammer by hoping around, it was real easy for me as ive beat it twice

my tip is to create a platform quite a large height above him then activate him and get to the top of the platforms

I just teamed up with @Dargona1018 and we beat the robot easily :p. We flattened the area, used a small Apex lab as shelter and worked together with Darg using a legendary sword and I used one that can burn and poison

Yea, the robot was too tall to fit through the door, so it would just jump . . and jump . . and jump . . until we killed it. :mwahaha:
