Guessing Game - How long do you think until Starbound is out? :O

i think the game will be out in late december or early january (early/late within a context of 10days or so) and i think that asking moderators is futile as they are (awesome) players just like us waiting for this game to be out. they arent formal staff of chucklefish (neither am i) and as such theire guess is as good as mine !

If Cirno was part of the team I'd think the game would become severely delayed as she screwed everything up.

 

I would say early next year, so... February 15th? Its hard to tell how much work needs to be done to finish the game but from what I can tell by the pacing of their updates and the fact that there's only two months left in the year it wont make it for a 2012 release.

 

I was considering January earlier, but then I started thinking about how much work the dev team has left to do. I'm starting to think even February is optimistic. So I guess I will be pleasantly surprised if it's released sooner.

imo it doesn't even look like there is a functional game yet. We have various tech demos, but all are far from a complete, structured, coherent piece of game. We probably have quite a few months before an early release.

 

Actually they have said and showed in streams that they have a almost fully functional game. They just have a whole bunch of stuff to add and tune up now.

 

I guess Dec 12th, for no reason whatsoever.

 

Though I'm still guessing it will come out sometime mid January - February.

If i want to buy starbound for my own bday, it will need to be out....tomorrow.

It really is a guessing game, but some time in the January - maybe February? - of 2013 is what I think. At least that way we know the world's not going to end; the cumulative want would-be Starbounders have for this game won't be brushed aside by anything as trivial as the apocalypse.
