Sorry it took a while, the face was a bit hard with the extended snout, but I pulled it off (Barely!): [DOUBLEPOST=1437326748][/DOUBLEPOST] Much much better! Thank you! This will make it a lot easier! I will start working on it soon![DOUBLEPOST=1437327137][/DOUBLEPOST] Ya know, I will work on it today, because rule breaking! [DOUBLEPOST=1437328972][/DOUBLEPOST]And here is Kaiachi's Novakid (I went for a farmer look since I thought the outfit with it's overalls looked rather approperiate with stitched-on patches):
Your drawings start to take a more realistic shape, little by little, keep going at it, I'd also suggest having some reference material(like body shapes) every time you need to draw something like that until it becomes a habit.
Sorry but... GAH! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY FACE! I LOOK LIKE I HAVE A GIANT NOSE! Maybe this might help as a reference. Good try though...
That's okay, just the angle of your face in the first pic had me off, I will try it again tomorrow (I have a reference point too; my wallpaper on my desktop: gmod is da best (Dis was made by Lonefirewarrior on Steam))
I rather like that interpretation, actually! The stitched on patches is a good idea.... can I keep that for her (like, tell other people who draw her to make those modifications?) But thanks, it's great! I like it for sure.
No problem! Yeah, I thought adding patches would be cool as well since it adds extra detail and texture as well as supporting that "farmer" look I was going for.
Yeah! The one you drew is supposed to be pretty friendly and a little forgetful in a Novakid sort of way, and a klutz as well! So patches in her shirt would totally make since. I could imagine her being on a farm/ranch. It's great!
*Ahem* Okay, it's tomorrow, time to draw a reptilian [DOUBLEPOST=1437399904][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh god what have I done... I think I had one of the biggest art brain farts ever, I was doing the head and well... I didn't really try on the body: what have I done...
Unholy Giliopuligaliopallian, this art is fantastic. I must request! I'd like you to make this chap here, his name is baf.
Hello there! Would you mind some advice I've picked up over time? Your arts are good as is, but there's always room for improvement, and I found a few things extremely helpful. Also, can's I be's havin's a gudses foxses? (Can you draw me a gud fox?)
yesh, you may help me I will try the fox after my smexy unicorn friend.[DOUBLEPOST=1437700695][/DOUBLEPOST]Guess what... I nailed that unicorn sketch: dat's swaggy
I'll number my little tips to help seperate them: 1. Skeletons. Basically. drawing simple shapes to outline the character/image. A circle and chin for the head, and then boxes everywhere else. 2. Proportions. There are a lot of important proportions stuffs, and it's probably best to put some research into it. The ones that have stood out to me the most are: eyes in the middle of the face, males have wider shoulders than waists (females are reverse), upper and lower arm/leg are generally the same length, the entire arm ends at the waist (putting the end of the mid arm mid torso), legs are the length of the torso. 3. Movement. This is very important, and I've seen some professionals suffer from poor movement. The easiest way to put it is to imagine line of motion going through your character; there should only be one line, and it should be generally straight. Also, I ought to say I got all these tips from tutorials (specifically Tutsplus). A bit of research can go a long way; I've found that even some minor changes can have drastic improvements on a style.
