Did I spend way too long thinking about this?

I've been playing on the river layout, and I already know that the greenhouse is going to annoy me.

I personally have never used the thing that much, and in a playthrough where I plan on mostly fishing and mining, on this very constricted farm layout, I'd really like to get rid of the spacious mess that is the broken greenhouse, a space that would fit any of the other buildings except the slime hutch

    This of course brings up problems;
    - How would it be gotten rid of?
    - How would it be returned if you change your mind?

For getting rid of it, the obvious option is Robin, but this would necessitate the creation of a sprite for the moved or rebuilt before bundle spot in case someone just wants it moved or changes their mind.

On the other hand, you could have it be removable by the player, and then either change the scene where the Junimos would rebuild it to a scene where they instead somehow ask you where you would want it, maybe in a dream sequence, or give it an invisible build spot and disallow building and growth there, meaning no extra sprite work or animation would be necessary.

This still leaves a problem for people like me, who just don't want the thing at all:cry:

    - What would be the new Pantry Junimo reward?

I was thinking that if you don't have the plot already laid out on your farm, the Junimos would instead deliver a bunch of building supplies and a greenhouse blueprint to Robin's house, allowing you to either have her build the greenhouse or any other building for free. This removes the need for a new sprite to be added if you use Robin to remove/move the greenhouse, or some weird different animation for the Junimos if you destroy it yourself.

Please suggest other routes, tell me if this is complete trash, or point me to a mod if it exists, and I promise not to mind if you steal my probably totally unoriginal ideas, I just needed to put them somewhere.:casper:

I actually think this is a great idea, you should definitely have the option to choose if you want the greenhouse or not and as you said instead the Junimos give you a deal of any building for free..? Like maybe you want them to build a shed or a well? Lol idk but I also find myself not using the greenhouse and sometimes its just in the way...

Personally, I enjoy the greenhouse. If you arrange it right, it does work as a growing space. Especially if you go for smaller plots 9x9 sq with a sprinkler in the middle. You get a grid of 3x4 plants, so 12 different crops with a strip of land to plant trellis things on. oh and use perennial crops that grow constantly. Although I can see the desire to get rid of it when you don't feel like trying to utilize it. I'd say programming it through Robin to delete and restore it after it's been unlocked through gameplay.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's a bad thing normally, but I'm bad at remembering I've planted things in it, and in the riverlands layout it is positioned just right to block one of the few areas for a barn or coop to have a nice amount of grazing space

Once you realise you can plant Star Fruit all year round and see the cost of its wine, you will never want to get rid of the Green House x)

Lol, I hear that. I put my animals over by the quarry on the Hilltop map, and kept forgetting them.

Maybe instead of a greenhouse, it could be a different building that meets the need of that type of farm layout. You said you're using the river layout? Why not the greenhouse be a different building that serves as a fishing needs building, or for those who are farming, the fish could be placed in a container that over time will create a fertilizer for your crops (different types of fish could provide different types of fertilizer). That's my thought around this subject.

That's an interesting idea, but you already craft quality fertilizer from fish, and while it could be nice to have specific fish give specific things, it would take tons of trial and error in game or leaving the game to find out what gives what, which shouldn't happen for a non-secret thing.
Also that brings back my major problem and creates a new one:
What if I don't want to use it?
What if I want the normal greenhouse?

This does bring up the idea of creating a variety of buildings for you to choose from, but you need to remember that this is the reward for the Pantry bundles, which are about crops and animals, expanding it to cover the other skills isn't what we want.

I understand, mine was merely a suggestion of what it could be. Doesn't necessarily mean that it's my final thought or anything. In the end, the thought to me is that the Greenhouse upgrade should be available to become something other than JUST a Greenhouse of which we may choose whatever that to be to serve our purpose.
