There's been a lot of debate about what the actual "Grand Honours" are that Grampa grades you on at the start of year 3 ranging from achievements to money made and even whether you got married and had kids. A lot is speculation as we have no concrete information and this has riled up some people. It seems ConcernedApe is inclined to agree with the consensus that giving no feedback on what has been accomplished is a little too vague. Here's a link to his twitter where he mentions working on making Grampa a little less harsh. No clue if this means we'll either get some answers or if the requirements for getting honours will just be toned down. I think the most frustrating thing about the whole Grampa mechanic is doing well on it. I couldn't stand getting 13/13 and having no idea what I accomplished that gave me that score.
Hell yeah. Jumping in this thread. Hopefully he will give us better context. Or even tone it down a bit.
Oh thank the stars. Now I can hopefully actually play past Fall without being afraid of getting chewed out by a ghost.
I'd be fine if the things he said were a bit nicer, but the scoring was just as difficult. He seemed so kind and supportive in the opening!
He was dying at the start, had to be nice to get to the pearly gates. Now he's there he don't give a single fuck.
I'm going for 0/13 with Grandpa but 13/13 for my own system, which is mainly based around giving animals amusing names and stockpiling mushrooms.
My chicken, duck and dinosaur will never be topped after getting Fruffy, Wuffy and Duffy as their random names off the bat. They were meant to be.
The wiki now has a breakdown of how to get the points, no idea if it's correct though. http://stardewvalleywiki.com/Grandpa
Fits with a lot of things we were seeing in previous speculation, would like to know where the source information came from though. Have we had people datamining?
Yea I'd wish there was more ways to get 13 points, especially when it comes to stuff like Master Angler or the Museum. Ideally everything else can be achieved by year 3 but Master Angler and the Museum are completely done by random luck. I'm in winter of year 2 right now and I still haven't been able to even find an Ice Pip or a Scorpion Carp despite spending a week in-game trying to find them both, all I ever manage to get is a Sandkip and a Ghostfish in the places where the later two are suppose to be caught. Another thing is some people kinda don't want to get married so forcing people to do that is kinda eh.
