Allow crafting of different types of goggles that can help you to see and detect different objects at a further distance into the walls, even allowing objects to be discerned that are in areas normally covered by fog of war. Some suggestions are as follows:

Thermal Goggles: Detect Heat Signatures through blocks (including lifeforms which have a weaker heat signatures and lava/fire which would have a much stronger heat signature).

X-Ray Goggles: Detect Heavy Metals through blocks in the ground. To help locate ore deposits more efficiently. It would be funny if these also showed characters in the nude.

Echolocation Goggles: These would detect the outline of walls, blocks, and monsters around the character even in the dark, but would not give any detail on what they are seeing. They would need to use judgement based on the outlines.

    Any other goggle suggestions?

Can the X-Ray Goggles see through clothing? If so, I'm so game.

But the goggles, they do nothing!

That would be the collateral benefit! Of course it wouldn't see through any metal armor or gear.

Wait so.. Let's say you're looking at someone in their, I dunno, Coolio shirt and pants.. you place the goggles on, then suddenly they're in super bulky metal armor since their outfit was in the vanity slot. That would make me a sad Commander.

Whit if you could get coloured goggles that tint the entire screen, similar to coloured flashlights

I had the idea of a Neutrino flashlight that would overlay into the walls with black and white, and the brighter the block the harder it is to mine. people and monsters would be rendered invisible in a neutrino light, and ore deposits blocks are harder to mine than normal, so they could probably be easily seen. Furniture would probably render invisible like critters and people.
