I think this is a really good idea for a race. The only thing that'd stop me being a Glunaught in Starbound would be if a water race which relied on living underwater as they can't breathe air was also introduced, because I'd be interested in dealing with that mechanic. But yes, well done on the Glunaught concept. I very much hope to see it in the game.
Thank you, Glunaughts are amphibious ,and before the nuclear war on their planet they would breathe air and water. I would like to give that back to them, in fact I had a way to balance it out and everything. However I learned that Chucklefish would like their races to be purely aesthetic. (Original perks from the rough draft of their lore) + Water Breathing - Requires humidifiers on hot and dry planets, takes up one accessory slot. + swims a little bit faster than humans - Walks a little bit slower than humans =Buys rocks and minerals for +5% of its value, Crystals +10%. =As one you buy them for plus +3% on rocks minerals and crystals.
Ah, that is a shame. I was hoping that they'd go for the race-specific perks and flaws, etc. Of course, they still COULD, so I hope that is what happens, but I suppose we'll see. Also, I like the perks you came up with already.
These look really cool I love all of the work you put into them and the lore really gives you a sense of what they really are. Awesome artwork by the way.
I have to admit I love this drawing, though I can see jokes about cropping tails shorter to trap other Glunaughts (Glunaughtti?) 0.0
lol anyways good Race, great story and art. Wish I could draw like that. Maybe i can convince you to do some help drawing something for me in the future, i'd have to bribe you somehow though
Oh no no, my graphics tablet is broken, so its hard to make anything that good. I might change it to a Glunaught later, but idk I like being a crawdad mermaid.
Thanks, I am thinking of editing to were they can have more than just white eyes. However I am unsure. Also I plan on making armored sprites and signatures soon. These guys are so fun to make . I must draw that now.
Gimp. I used a screen shot for a scale, a good way to do "big" pixel art is to use a grid, it can be activated in view >show grid and edited it image>configure grid
