Well like... I don't really play the glitch, and I don't have a seething hate for the horse AI like some people. In fact, I tend to play modded races a whole bunch, anyway, so I'll be stuck with whatever random people decide.

I think it's goofy and kinda amusing as a joke, but having it seriously be the AI for one of the races is going a bit too far. I'm not terribly fond of the Po for the same reason. There's a sort of line you cross where something is funny as an Easter Egg or April Fool's joke, or maybe a one shot gag or as part of an event, but not as a permanent fixture. Eventually people are going to stop laughing at horseboobs, and when they do, they're going to be stuck with... Well, a horse that has boobs.

so I really dont like the Glitch AI, I just think its creepy and doesnt fit well.
I think something that would fit glitch would be a circuit board looking thing for the AI, the animation being that the circuits pulse as if electricity was flowing through them, then possibly more energy going through to represent angry or something

As time goes on, it appears more negative posts are being cast than positive ones. I take that to mean that the folks that visit the site the least often are the ones casting the negative votes.

Conversely, it seems to me that the majority casting votes positively are those that frequent these forums often.

I want to say that this means that those more directly loyal to the game are more apt to "like" this, while those that are more casual are more apt to not like it, but I don't have any direct proof of that, just a gut feeling based on the chronology.

  4. It's entirely possible. I wonder if @Ordona or @mollygos has access to that sort of traffic information.

Not that I particularly like the horse.

But it could also mean that the people from the steam forum, who dont like it and just saw the link posted there, came here to cast their votes.

True, but I'm not sure that there is a distinction between "people from the steam forum" and "more casual". The vast majority of casual players will post/read steam forums before coming here.

  8. Not really. The closest you could really get is if the poll had the "Show votes publicly" option enabled and you went through by hand.

As Izzabelle pointed out though, the "don't like" votes only recently overtook the "like" votes, so you don't need to see each individual vote to notice the trend.

There were better ways to go about creating the glitch AI; this just so happens to goes past the bar. It feels more like a gimmick than a legitimate decision imo.

Just wanted to say that I posted my interchangeable AI idea in the suggestion forum.

    Feedback would be appreciated.

It could also be that the people who have been comming in late here to vote, over the weekend, are those that have jobs and things to do other times of the week, and only get time to check these forums over the weekend. They would be of a more serious mindset.

Or, it could simply be that those who voted early are heavy internet viewers, and therefore more likely to have been exposed to the horse head meme and find it humorous and appealing. I doubt it has anything to do with "loyalty" or "casual gamers".

In fact, I think that second is the most likely scenario, but there really isn't enough data to speculate on the situation in that fashion. And the idea that "hardcore" gamers like this is not supported, either, which is what you're saying when you assume that only "casual" gamers don't like it. It's very possible that the "hardcore" gamers were too busy actually playing the game to notice until recently.

If they were to split the AI into choices, the AI would do well to have a unique personality depending on the choice. Whichever ai you choose would need to be relevant to the story or else it'll feel cheap. If you can completely change the design of a character without changing anything else about them, then your character does not have a deep enough individuality (the appearance should suggest something of their character. If they're laid back, their clothes should be casual. If they are uptight and strict, then they should be wearing the best they can for the situation).
Considering that it's looking like more people would rather not have the horse AI, I would accept an extra option as long as its style remains relevant.

Gosh, I really have a serious tone here. In truth, I'm kinda laid back about this. I just have a lot of fun talking 'bout stuff is all.

I actually kind of like that. Horse, to represent transport. Steely eyes to represent commitment to goals. It looks nothing like the meme. It fits. If they're going to keep the Horse, it should be in this form.

So now that the numbers have changed, all of a sudden, people who disagree with you are "cheating"? There could just as easilly have been Alt accounts voting that they love it. The ease of breaking this poll is equal for both sides, and your insinuation that people are cheating the system is not suported by facts, and besides the point of this thread in the first place, which was to gauge peoples reaction and invite them to comment. The numbers are meaningless, they're just a billboard to attract attention, but still telling us that it's a major point of contention and almost everyone has a strong opinion on the situation.

Well i couldve made it male with the same eyes which i didnt think had the seriousness needed and it looked weird with small shoulders and a large head

  19. @Rainbow Dash if you're going to post, at least try to contribute more to the discussion. You're instigating aggressive responses. :(

@Jeoshua watch your double posts, please.

Far from what I meant, at all. Please don't throw sexist accusations at me.

I like it better because it's more serious, and honestly wish that it had been kept as a female form to stay more true to the original. The expression, lack of googly eyes, lack of buck teeth, and it's complete non-resemblance to the horse head meme is what I find more appealing about that particular horse, not it's gender.

@Izzabelle I thought the thread was moving faster than that. I'm used to forums that auto-consolidate double posts. Sorry about that.
