of course the devs have the final say and we will work with what is patched in i just hate it when people have to have it their way to the point that nobody else can have nice things instead of finding middle ground. : P

  2. It does seem that the biggest agreement is that a form of compromise in the base game is the best possible outcome for all parties.

The door swings both ways. Selectable AI? Neat, I'm down with that if they want to do the work. If not, then replacing it completely isn't exactly a compromise.

which is one of the many compromises i have continuously posted. I'm glad the other side seems to at least consider this one.

I'm digging the idea of offering choices for the player instead of it becoming a solid state. Player choice is always a good thing and this seems like a feature that shouldn't have to be modded to be enjoyable.

Sure, I just wanted to make that observation, since it is the first time this has happened in this thread, so far. By all means, everyone, keep discussing. We haven't had an outburst of anger about the situation for a day or so, now, and I think it's pretty productive. I think most of that can be linked to the moderators actually.

BTW my roommate who hasn't even heard of this before came in as I was typing, asked what I was doing, and I explained.
His immediate response was: "Why is the Horse the representative of a Robot race? Why not make it, I dunno, Robby the Robot"

Two seconds and he already had a better idea than this.

To the door swinging both ways subject, I think this would be a lot less of an issue if each AI was equally derpy and ridiculously silly, but the other races AI seem to be fairly fitting without rationalizations.

I don't think that the people advocating its removal had compromise in mind when they posted. Personally, I'm not on board with their point of view, despite my feelings about the AI. There's no reason horsetits should be thrown out completely - the work has been done, and, objectively speaking, it's not awful. I fully support allowing players to select it, if they like it. I just want the same option, so that I'm not forced to choose between my favourite race and an AI that I can't stomach.

  9. Well put. It'd be a shame to just throw out the work.

So, if the Horse is a sign of rebellion of the Outcasts, what if we want our Glitch to be a Patriot? For King and Country, find the heretics and bring them back to the fold, and if they will not yield, to slay them in the name of the King?

Should they have a rebellious meme-horse as their steed? Or would they prefer something more classical?

I wouldn't object to a selectable AI shape. But I would object to being forced to look at that ugly monstrosity every time I interacted with my ship.

@Darklight I deleted your post just so we could simply move on. Fair?

    I'm not fond of it.

That's about all I can really say on the matter.

  16. lol fair enough -- you don't care to have any sort of compromises? Just an entirely new AI instead?

To my dissapointment aswell, your floran cannot be a scientist, your apex a Miniknog Agent, your avian a Worshiper of Kluex and a Hylotl not a racist bastard.

You cant change that, this is canon, and verry unlikely that changes regarding to personality and quest progression will be adressed.

So,no , you cant wish for a Hivemind Glitch,as firstly, you would have absolutely no input in it,and as it would be disastrous in a gameplay term.

Firstly, why on earth would you do so?Why wouldyou purposefully hunt free thinking Glitches for your won will?

Dont disrupt the subject with this kind of stuff, this is how it is,my explaation is solid(if you disagree, prove me wrong,by all means),the end im afraid.

If you dont like it, verry well, agree to disagree and ill let you on your way,but dont do this, this hyperbolic situation just to confuse me.Please

I think the AI (and the ship) should be comprised of duplicating nanobots.

  19. But if you choose to do so @Jeoshua , do so in a private message

Couldnt the ship AI just made interchangeable?

You can simply change the "AI Core" and get another AI for the ship.

This would initially allow the players to choose what of the basic already existent AIs they install on their ship and later on maybe allow to build additional AI's into the game as special loot.

So much about your character is already customizeable, why not make the AI customizeable?

/edit: This would only require an item slot and binding the AI to which "AI Core" is installed. Though, of course I have no idea how much work that exactly would take.
