...In all seriousness though I don't think an "omnipotent entity" (...>.> No not the dev...) would change its mind much, if at all. I mean something that's lived that long seems unlikely to change its opinions, right? Or at least that's how I've always seen them depicted.

 

Your planet's destruction was probably caused by the Precursors in an attempt to stop another group's plans for destruction/conquest/whatever. That puts you on a quest to learn about the Precursors while some other organization works behind the scenes. Eventually you find out the precursors are not really your enemy, or perhaps you get to choose sides. Maybe the Precursors are not unified, and there is a faction that desires to help other races develop and another faction that wants to destroy or dominate other races. There are effectively dozens of ways the story could go, so I don't think it is safe to assume anything. If we meet up with the ancient Precursors at all, it would greatly diminish the mystery surounding them.

 

I don't believe that the Glitch and the Avians are the same race. To me it feels like you're stretching a small coincidence. I mean all the races have outliers, does that mean they are all same? I don't want to be a jerk but I feel that this is silly. Also I don't want the Avians to be the Glitch. Also Avians are organic. Glitch reproduce by building a new Glitch together. Last I checked you can't take a bunch of bird/human body parts, stick them together and create a new sentient object. It doesn't work like that.

 

i think you misunderstand, we're talking about the glitch and the avian's GOD/creator being the same race, not the glitch and avian themselves. also Frankenstein

 

No offense, but did you even read anything in this thread besides the title?

 

I think that humans are the predecessors, we built the Glitch, advanced the Avians, and destroyed ourselves with war. The energy released by the explosion pushes you spaceship forwards in time with you as one of the last of your kind.

 

Sorry for the previous post, I was reading and at some point the topic changed to them being the same race or thats what I got out of it. As for Frankenstein if this game doesn't have that I will be sad now. But now that I get it I feel it's possible. Not probable in my opinion but possible.

i hope not because if the penguins are the predecessors then that would make them untamable which would fill me with lots of because i want to use them as pets

 

This post instantly made me think of Stargate. Your "predecessor" would be like the "ancients." Then if you go into multiple predecessor's, stargate had an episode where there was a castle where 4 different older alien races would meet. There were also the Asgard which was one of the older races, they went extinct during the time frame of the series, only survivors didn't show up until a different stargate series and there was only a tiny colony.

 

Clearly an arceus race.
