Beacuse everyone love's to fly sometimes on normal non-scifi things.. heh.. yeah? Also it would be fun if the glider was having changes for the weather Like Sandstorm would make your glider fall apart or make you backflip to the end of it Or normal rain when you are pretty heavy by the water you hold I look forward for this
We kind of have the umbrella/parasol, which does something similar already, altrough I would assume this could work as a much more instantly responsive version of those, that lets you glide from the moment you take the jump, instead of after dropping a few squares down.
