Closed Glad Giraffe Crashes After Character Select

Hey there. I understand this issue may have been posted about before, but I haven't found any fixes so far so I'm putting up my own problem as a last resort.

Upon selecting my main Avian character, the game starts, and a quest window comes up. I select accept, as that's the only option I am given, then the game crashes before my ship loads in. I have no mods installed and starting a new character works just fine. I'm at a loss as to what to do, and the last thing I'm willing to do is start over as long as there's a shimmer of hope that I can fix this.

If anyone knows how to fix this, I would really appreciate it. It would be a shame if I had to abandon this guy for the second time.
