Tbh, the calico desert could use an oasis themed town since it feels empty and would make perfect sense why there's a secret casino it could be bigger or smaller than pelican town tho and the towns people there could give you quest like finding a few things or rescuing some stuck villager down the skull cavern.
Yes! That would be awesome! The desert does feel empty and there's so much potential for new side quests.
I agree, this does sound like a good idea. The store/casino could be part of a small town/village(I do think it should be smaller than Pelican Town as that is the main town in the game). Though maybe the store part could be in a different building and the one with the casino could become a saloon(with the casino as a "back room" instead. I also like the idea of desert themed quests. And I also agree that it could be centered around an oasis. I guess with Skull Mines there, it would be considered a mining town/village. It could maybe have a bit of a western theme to it, with the store, saloon/casino, and even a small sheriff's office/jail along with a house or 2 and an inn. And when Harvey talks about wanting to get more patients from other areas maybe he could mention starting with this place, maybe even give the player a quest to take a letter of introduction to his place over there. And maybe Pierre could get into trading with the town/village and do the same letter quest thing Those 2 would be good things to have after the community center, to add to the story that happens after, or maybe after a certain number of in-game years playing?. That might actually be good for my suggestion about Joja as well.
Agreed, it could be like a huge patch content since the game is "stardew valley" and pelican town seems pretty small after a few years ito the games and it could give way to some upcoming new calendar events
