Well, IRC liked it so here it is. You explore a vast jungle planet, filled with plant life and BEEEES, when suddenly you come across a colossal rose. It's thorned vines extend across the floor, giving off a sickly sweet smell. You approach the flower to harvest it, when the vines move, trapping you... Name: Headcrab Triffid Colossal Perrenial Appearance: A giant flower (with a mouth?) Attacks: It can lash out with it's thorned vines for minor damage. Spray some sort of gas to inflict a Slow debuff unless you have a gasmask More TBD On death, it collapses and can be harvested for Stun Spray and possibly some sort of poisoned thorn. Please post. By Noctshade's suggestion... Killer Perennial Miniature versions of the Colossal Perennial, they shoot seeds at you.
Hm, you still retain the basic ideas we had on the IRC, so not really sure what to add, except, maybe this can be a sort of mini-boss found on a particular planet relating to shrubbery and other plant life?
I got a few more ideas so I thought I'll add these on here. I'm positive that there can't be only a single planet that relates to perennial organisms in my opinion, so why not have multiple of these "Flower Beasts" on different planets? We could have a couple different of these "Flower Beasts", a nightshade/solanaceae beast, an orchid beast, a lotus beast, and a rose beast. Now, I'm positive if this ever actually gets implemented, they won't be just named, "Flower Beasts," hopefully, so I'm just using this as a place holder here. Also, each individual of these plants doesn't actually have to be named differently, they can just be collectively called something like, "Killer Perennials" or something, I dunno. EDIT EDIT: Now that I think about, finding a species of flower on a planet far away that looks exactly like an Earth's rose is rather far-fetched, so just having the collective bunch of them being called the "Colossal Perennials," or something might be more suitable to keep things a bit more straight and, in turn, original.
...Bit overpowered. Maybe you could make a miniaturised version akin to a Man Eater from Terraria? Maybe it shoots acid too.
