    I port-forwarded 21025 and now im getting a "wrong password" error, i tried the default passwords(duckies, swordfish) but they didnt work, so i changed all 3 of them to different passwords and im still getting that error. Im changing the configs in starbound.cfg btw, i also tried doing the same to main configuration.cfg but its the same thing. Could someone please help me. Also, what do i type when it asks for my server account?

    Make sure the middle tab in the multiplayer login menu "account name" is left blank, currently an unfinished feature.

    I'm having the same issue mate ever since the newest patch.
    This doesn't help anything. Apparently they didn't update the server files with the newest patch, making it incompatible.

    My server is working fine, all my members are just leaving "server account" blank for now.
    You can also try this~~

    >C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets

    >Open default_configuration with notepad and look for the line ""upnpPortForwarding" : true,"

    >Change true to false, save and quit and boot the server.

    I tried this and I was able to join my own server, not sure about other people yet but thanks anyway! :)

    Not working for me. LAN users can connect to the server, and Internet users - no.

    My friend couldn't connect to my server, but if he pressed spacebar once in the server account field it let him connect

    Yes! That worked perfectly,
    I guess the game must be sending back "Server Account" as the account or something weird like that.

    This solved my issue entirely, thank you.

    No, sir, they did not, and it would be a wonderful thing if you would stop trying to troll other people who really don't know any better.

    If someone actually wants to know what the passwords are for your own server, you can find a list of valid passwords in the default_configuration that Cosmopolitan mentioned a few posts ago.

    Something else to try. don't use a password. people are only able to connect to my server by leaving the PW field empty. Even though I've specified a password. Not very secure, but I can't seem to do anything about it.

    I used to have this same issue, but I recall reading at some point that you must change 2 config files in order to change the password. The first config file is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\ and it is called "starbound.cfg"
    The second is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets and it is called default_configuration.cfg

    If you change all of the passwords so that both config files match, you should be fine.

    I don't understand, I checked the files but passwords still don't work.

    in default_configuration.cfg I have this :
    "serverPasswords" : [
    "",
    "duckies",
    "swordfish"
    ]

    And in starbound.cfg I have this :
    "serverPasswords" : [ "", "duckies", "swordfish" ],

    I tried to connect with no password, with duckies and with swordfish, none worked.

    Does the "Server Account" field say "Server Account"? you need to enter a blank username, like a single space, that has fixed my issue in the past with passwords.
