Geting a teleport core from a quest I did before the update?

So I've read that you can get the new teleport cores as a reward on the "Contributing to Society" quest..
I've done the quest before the update, is there a way I can get the core from it?

It seems that for now I have no option to teleport to my original home, and no way to buy a portal :/
I feel like the teleport update shouldn't of deleted the "go home" option from the ship teleporter, they could co-exist.

 

While you cant redo the quest, teleporter cores are quite common in tech chests. Just explore a few worlds and im sure you will find one (my char has 4 of them atm).

As for now I find the new update not very pleasant.
My cat died when I updated, and all my codex got deleted as well.
Also the fact it deleted the "Set home" and "Go home" options sucks :/

 

I can understand your frustration, but they did warn about the set home option disappearing (First warning was april 2'th).

At least for the "set home" you can do the same with the new bookmark system (name a world "home"), off course thats without "go home" (at least until you can get a tele down as you said)

Whats this about your cat dying?

 

Yea my cat died when I updated the game.
Found his pixels in my ship in the room where I kept him.
Also one of my decorations on my ship dropped as an item so I guess there was a glitch with the ship that accrued with me updating.

But can't you just buy the cores? they're mighty expensive but if you redo dreadwing and erchius a lot you'll get buckets of pixels.

 

You have to find one core, then youre able to buy them. Maybe i didn't watch carefully enough but before i found a core i couldn't buy them. As i am farming pixels for some time now, they are not expensive at all, 10k for the core plus 3k for telliporta itself. Burnt about 3000k since march for blocks an furniture so 13k for that one is like peanuts... except that the pixel outcome from resoure refinery has been lowered hurts.

 

Use /admin command and buy one for free at the shop... I did that because the quest was already complete...
