    Yer i think Liaison is better than Lattice, you should change it but i like the rest of it, great work and keep it up :rofl:

    Accoring to GeorgeV, it's Ship-based Artificial Intelligence Lattice,

    Though many here seems to prefer Ship-based Artificial Intelligence Liaison. I too prefer Liaison, though my reason to call it a Liaison is because I've been following a guy on tumblr called Dirtnibbler and his golden duck (Lt. Ducky) handles the ask box. >_>;

    Regrettably, Lt. Ducky hasn't had a lot to answer lately. The ask box has pretty much dried up. I'm humbled by your mention though.

    Good suggestion Proangel, but how would you beam back to the planet you set as home if your ship needs to be in orbit with the planet? You could command your ship to return home and beam you down, but that will cost way too much fuel, and will discourage space exploration, it also kind of defeats the purpose of the "teleport home" command.

    We elaborated more with ideas on how the teleporter could be upgraded on page 7 of the comments (such as this post).

    We were thinking that the ship's teleporter should be tiered, like how so much of the tech is. Even our ships will be tiered.
    And being tiered, I'm thinking you would not initially have the option to "teleport home" - not right away. Rather, after you've upgraded your ship's teleporter to the maximum - long after you've fixed the problem of the teleporter range and your ship being locked in a day cycle - then you can set a planet as your home and use "teleport home".

    (Actually, I was thinking that only new characters would be unable to teleport up at night - as your ship ran out of fuel and was parked in a day cycle. Once you get some fuel, then you can change your ship's orbit.)

    BTW: I distinctly remember episodes of sci-fi shows/movies (such as the Star Trek and Stargate franchises) where they discovered a method to teleport (or dimensional door) vast distances; i.e., many light years, if not in an entirely different galaxy. To be sure, that would be extremely advanced (usually alien) technology. Maybe a high tier teleporter creates artificial wormholes?

    As for energy costs: Teleporters are strictly fictional devices as we don't have anything like them. So how can we know how much energy they will use? Though, if our own technological progress is any indication, it will probably become more energy efficient as progress marches on. Indeed, there's been recent scientific articles about research NASA is doing on the possibility of warp drive. Initially, they thought it would consume way too much energy to be feasible. But then someone came up with a workaround. Now it's looking a lot more like a possibility.

    My apologies, I seem to have accidentally skipped a forum page. Yes, it does make sense to tier the teleporting capabilities of the ship (especially since in the upcoming update, ships will be tiered anyway) At the current moment, it is too easy to escape from danger thanks to our teleporters, and that has to be fixed, therefore I support this proposal. Although this is imposing a limitation on players, I can actually see this becoming very useful in the long run, because if I have interpreted your posts correctly, you suggested it would allow us to eventually choose where we will beam down from the ship so that players can set up their base of ops wherever they please.
    Besides this, it will force players to think carefully about how to manage their time when on a planet, which adds an interesting game-play element.
