I would like to remind that was made by one of the Devs... I believe we sorta have a free pass to talk about the rape of the Japanese language displayed, just saying
Think of the implications a ship AI could have for the lonely scavenger! If ever he wanted an exhilarating conversation with a holographic Hylotl Princess, he may do so with his AI companion. Or perhaps he'd like to remember the nagging of his late mother? He will never be without social activity in the vast reaches of the Cosmos!
This looks pretty good so far, but I would like to know if there are any plans top give S.A.I.L. a personality. I would like my one partner-of-sorts to be a character with more depth than a robotic sounding blue projection. Maybe actual "personalities" could be attributed to the standing-positions our character customizer calls "personality." perhaps, for example, the one with hands on waist could be confident, or brave, and the S.A.I.L. could have a personality either harmonizing or contrasting with this individuals supposed personality, or maybe there could be a separate option for S.A.I.L. personality, maybe when you first boot it up? I personally would like the most sarcastic A.I. science can produce. Not trying to overstep bounds or anything, but I do think it would be nice to have your ship be a character, not just a .GIF mounted on a window.
I would love to personalize the A.I portrait. You know, choose the look you wanna see. Something like char creation, but for your A.I. Is it possible?
I am immediately imagining SAIL with a Threepio-esc personality. Perhaps not standard, maybe implemented based on the user's preference: in this case, the user is Helix.
Did I say Threepio? I was actually thinking of a more Afred personality. How Threepio was written in that post is beyond me. I guess I meant for SAIL to SOUND like Threepio, but Alfred's voice, that's also suitable.
I love the change to S.A.I.L. I also do like the graphics there for the talking head - though I'd assume every race would have a different one. What do the Glitch do with AI though?
That's a good question. It's safe to assume that when a Glitch finally opens its eyes to its true robotic self, it would somehow obtain SAIL right after its escape from its former life...somehow. EDIT: Carryall has a good idea for how a Glitch could have an AI. I like it very much.
Here's hoping the Floran AI starts looking like a glitchy Glitch and ends up as a weird racial mix as their ship grows to include others .
I love the idea of the ship AI getting upgraded and starting to get... weirder, or at least more in-line with the average player as time goes on. Apex AI starts out totally dedicated to the government and suggesting you turn yourself in and ends up rebelling as more and more work is done on it/the ship, things like that. It's a cool incentive to do some upgrading, beyond just improving your ship's capabilities and appearance.
